Indian Armour in collaboration with International Armoured Group has re-engineered the armoured vehicle literally "from the ground up" and are setting the new standard for armored protection in the industry.
Contrary to common perceptions, the proper armoring of the passenger compartment is only HALF of the vehicle safety package. Without the ability to safety stabilize, support and move that compartment around, the vehicle is not safe, due mainly to the fact that they are all over the rated GVWR by the OEM manufacturers.
To be safe, the vehicle MUST have properly designed and compatible components in ALL key areas of safety relating to support, stability and handling notwithstanding the engine performance.

IA vehicles utilize the same protection level materials in the roof components as for the rest of the vehicle. This ensures full passenger protection even if attacks are vertical (i.e. from bridges or overpasses)
All window (transparent armor) areas are overlapped with ballistic steel. This ensures that the passenger compartment is protected even when attacked at the weaker areas.
IAG incorporates spall shields into the door and window overlaps to ensure that the passenger compartment retains full protection even when attacked on angle. Without this protection, occupants would be vulnerable in this common type of attack.
Our vehicles feature fully internally reinforced hinges from the same protection level materials as used in the main body of the vehicle. This guarantees that the hinges will transfer the excess door loads to the interior structure of the vehicle. The result is long lifetime of the door components and structure while maintaining alignment.
Unique to IA is the ability of the design to fulfill multi-functional capabilities. Components are designed to be cost-effective, structural, permit ease of maintenance and provide superior ballistic resistance, all in one package.
A finished IA vehicle provides exceptional Roll-Over protection with the 'box within a box design'. Since the armoring is fully connected throughout, the interior armoring actually becomes the new vehicle structure. It functions superior to a roll cage in the event of loss of control while evading attack.
An important part of any protection vehicle is the ability to escape from an attack zone quickly. To ensure that this is possible, all vehicles are equipped with the latest run-flat devices in the tires. This permits continued driving even after an attack has deflated in tire.
IA vehicles are used for years in hostile environments around the world with an exceptional safety record. The design provides full protection and escape capabilities as proven with hundreds of vehicles in use which are attacket regularly.
Care has been taken in the designs to ensure easy maintenance. Most glass areas can be replaced with standards tools in a short time by utilizing bolted configuration. |
